Problem: I am being woken in the night and am not sure why.

Hypothesis: The temperature in our apartment runs warm and in the night, there is a spike which causes me to wake.

Experiment: Record temperature data over time and look for anomalies that occur in the night.

Build: Raspberry Pi, hooked up to a digital temperature sensor. Data is recorded to a local mySQL database and then pushed to a google docs spreadsheet for data exploration.

Results: YES!!! The temperature spikes nightly between 1am and 3am.

Seamless Planet was a big data company that at the time served the world’s largest inventory of experiences and activities. It provides the ability to exchange inventory and booking information in real time.  Activity inventory was stored in a centralized Global Distribution System (GDS) that was integrated with some of the largest Online Travel Agencies (OTAs).

Founder of Collective Click Software which offered turnkey solutions for managing daily deal campaigns. It enabled publishers to leverage existing customers and advertisers to increase revenues, attract new advertisers, and improve customer loyalty. 

DailyDealPlatform.com was our cloud-based version, that provided a scalable and modular platform for affinity groups. Using a web-based control panel, customers could control every aspect of the application and manage multiple publisher sites. It utilized some of the web’s most powerful APIs to validate advertiser listings, geocode addresses, and connect with social media services.

A small project to help a friend collect feedback from his guests. The reviews are stored in a database and then syndicated to hostel review sites in a weekly batch. Reporting and analytics help the hostel to identify areas of opportunity to improve its services, facilities, and customer experience.

Provided feedback and a student's perspective to Professor Leon Presser while he was writing the book What It Takes to Be an Entrepreneur: A Navigational Guide to Achieve Success. Worked with Leon from the inception of the idea, through multiple drafts, to the completion of the book. I am quoted on the back cover.
